About

Rob Elliott, PhD, is an industrial designer, engineer, and teacher. He is the Co-Founder and Chief Design Officer of Urban Leaf, an indoor gardening consumer goods company. Outside Urban Leaf, Rob serves as an adjunct professor of engineering design at RISD and Brown University. He’s a recipient of several National Science Foundation grants and earned a doctorate in Ecological Engineering from Columbia University.

Rob’s experience growing up in the woods of New England and leading backpacking trips developed his love for the natural world. His appreciation for well-made goods is shaped by his never ending search for products that make his own life easier – especially for cooking, hiking, snowboarding, fatherhood, and dog ownership.

He lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife, new baby, and tri-pawed dog, Zuzu.
